COURSE OVERVEIW
"What is Quality Child Care"
A workshop on what a quality child care should look like and what parents expect from their providers. Also, we will take a look at child adult ratios, well-designed space, provider/child relationships and more.
"Make-It, Take-It"
This workshop will give you ideas for low cost, easy to make toys with items easily found at home. This is a hands on workshop on how to make toys that will enhance the development of infants, toddlers and schoolagers.
"The Business Side of Child Care"
This workshop will help providers to become more organized. We will take a look a different bookkeeping methods, contracts, parent/provider policies, tax information and grants. Also what type of files should be kept on individual clients.
CPR- Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency
This 4 hour infant/child course meets DHS/Licensing requirements for CPR training.
"Cultural Dynamics" (Minnesota Cultural Dynamics Education Project)
This curriculum focuses on the importance of culture in the healthy social development of children. Some of the concepts addressed are: increasing caregivers self-awareness, recognizing and understanding differences and similarities, building positive, trusting relationships with families, developing positive attitudes toward differences in others etc.
"Flexible, Fearful & Feisty" - (ITTI)
This workshop provides participants with a opportunity to explore temperament and how they may influence the relationships within group care.
"Parent/Provider Communication" - (ITTI)
Communication with multiple parents at the end of the day. Learning some creative ways to get the messages you need to your parents. Role playing is also utilize to help improve skills such as listening, communication and problem solving and dealing with anger.
"First Aid Part I" - Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency
basic First Aid principles and practices, injury prevention safety information and blood borne pathogens. The class meets the First Aid requirements for Rule 2 Family child Care providers.
