  Providing in home consultation services to discus issues like; increasing school readiness and literacy, behavior management, nutrition, and safety.

  Providing training and support to family, friend and neighbor childcare providers in Somali and East African communities

  Creating community opportunities which promote dialogue, cross cultural communication, training and assessment of lessons learned for system change.

Career Path Guidance

• Child Development Training - Entry Level
  A six week program which allows participants an opportunity to become teacher aid qualified to work in a family child care setting.
   
• Child Development Certification - Stage 1
  A 12 credit based course (through MCTC and St. Paul College) supported by wrap around services including higher education preparatory workshops, computer training, and mentoring.

Community Curriculum Development

• Building Cultural Connections
  Focusing on the importance of culture in the healthy social development of all children rather than on specific culture or ethnicity.
   
• Culturally Specific Models
  Culturally Specific groups of childcare providers and community leaders, which meet once a month to discuss issues around children, literacy and school readiness.

English Language Learning
Instruction in English reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as basic computer skills to adults who are childcare providers.
